Tantalizing signs inside Perseverance
Tantalizing signs inside Perseverance Opportunity took this image with her Panoramic Camera (Pancam) not long after driving into Perseverance Valley. In the middle of the frame you can see a deep gouge or channel that resembles the grooves the rover found atop Perseverance and seems to hint of past water. The Pancam team at Arizona State University (ASU) processed this image in false color, a technique scientists use to better discern the various geological elements in the scene.
