Orbit of Yinghuo-1 Yinghuo-1 will be inserted into an elliptical orbit around Mars that approaches to within 800 kilometers at its nearest point and reaches to 80,000 kilometers at its farthest point, with a period of 72.8 days. The orbit will allow Yinghuo-1's magnetometer and plasma science package to survey all parts of Mars' plasma environment and magnetic field. Zhao Hua, 2008
