Oppy’s recent roves, June 2017 The annotations for this graphic — which charts Opportunity's roves in May 2017 up to and around the top of Perseverance — were meticulously documented by Phil Stooke, an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, author of The International Atlas of Mars Exploration Vol. 2, Spirit to Curiosity: 2004 to 2014 (Cambridge University Press, 2016). The base image was taken by the HiRISE camera onboard MRO. Orion, Mariner 4, and Casper are small craters that the rover drove by in April and May. NASA / JPL-Caltech / UA / P. Stooke
