Nippur Sulcus, Ganymede Galileo obtained the images that make up this mosaic of Ganymede's Nippur Sulcus region when it flew past Jupiter's moon Ganymede for the second time on September 6, 1996. The Nippur Sulcus region is an example of Bright Terrain on Ganymede, which is typified by multiple sets of ridges and grooves. The intersections of these sets reveal complex age relationships.
