Greetings from Mars “Here are our eyes on Mars,” said Wendy Calvin, a science team member, from the University of Nevada Reno on seeing this image. Several members of the mission team worked together to help Opportunity celebrate her 5000th day on Mars. The robot took this self-portrait with her Microscopic Imager (MI), adding to it a week later with an additional lower tier of pictures for the mosaic to include the rover’s right wheel(s).
