Detailed Moon Composite

In order to achieve a highly detailed image of the moon, multiple images were captured and stitched together to create the final moon composite. A 10" Dobsonian telescope with a DSLR camera was used to capture a total of 20 images across the surface of the moon. The images were extracted from video footage and then processed to enhance the detail. The final 20 images were then combined and edited in photoshop to create a highly detailed image of the moon. This version is down-sized to 1080x1080. The images were captured on a fairly calm and cool winter night, and so atmospheric issues were minimized. These nights don't come often, in this case it happened to be on the day where the moon was in its first quarter phase. The image was edited in Photoshop. All images were collected in the city under light polluted sky.
