Cosmoquest Moon Mappers interface ("Man vs. Machine" mode) Cosmoquest's Moon Mappers project enlists the aid of the public in mapping craters in Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter's images of the Moon. Mapping the sizes and locations of craters permits scientists to determine how long a part of the lunar surface has been exposed to the sky, which is one method for figuring out the age of the surface.
