Channeling clues During the walkabout atop Perseverance Valley, Opportunity used her Panoramic
Camera (Pancam) to take the images that went into this partial panorama. The scientists
are studying the rocks lining the small depression or channel (visible near top of scene)
for clues as to whether they were formed by ancient water flow into the valley or by wind.
The Pancam team at Arizona State University (ASU) processed this view in false color, a
technique that helps scientists better discern the various elements in the scene. NASA / JPL-Caltech / Cornell / ASU
