Changing volcanic vent on Venus These two images from NASA’s Magellan spacecraft, captured eight months apart in 1991, show a volcanic vent on Venus that has changed size and shape. In the left image, captured in February, the vent has a surface area of 2.2 square kilometers (0.8 square miles).
