Central peak of Tsiolkovsky crater oblique view Tsiolkovsky is a crater on the lunar farside whose floor is filled with dark mare basalt. This oblique view of the peak was captured by Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter on July 27, 2012. The image is approximately 25 km in diameter, and the central peak rises about 3400 m above the crater floor. North points left. NASA / GSFC / ASU
