Alignment of the Curiosity drill sample chamber outlet and the CHIMRA sample inlet In a photo taken on sol 1637 (March 15 2017), the sample chamber outlet funnel attached to the drill bit is visibly aligned with the CHIMRA sample inlet. The drill feed must be fully retracted for these two components to align and allow transfer of drilled sample from the drill into CHIMRA for sieving, portioning, and delivery.
