Michael Duke
Director, Colorado School of Mines
Michael Duke is the Director at Colorado School of Mines. Michael has a PhD in geochemistry and a masters degree in geology. He worked with NASA for 25 years in multiple leadership roles including principal investigator for the Apollo Lunar Sample program; has won multiple honors including the Presidential Meritorious Award; and is one of the top experts on lunar material refining. Currently, he is director of the general research laboratory in the Center for Commercial Application of Combustion in Space at Colorado School of Mines. For the Program Study, he provided technical guidance and advice on Mars material refining processes. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the Mars Foundation.
