Barney Magrath

Barney Magrath is a member of the Planetary Society who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has a background in astronomical instrumentation that started in Laramie Wyoming with the Wyoming Infrared Observatory (WIRO) and eventually landed him on Mauna Kea, on the Island of Hawaii, where he contributed to the CFHT and the Subaru observatories. As a photographer with 50 years experience he has witnessed, and participated in, every kind of imaging. Currently he finds a challenge in exploring the astronomical imaging potential of the modern smartphone.
