New Planetary Report, response to Griffin global warming comments, and other stuff

Sorry for the lack of a Friday post -- I was working on a big project and didn't finish by the end of the day. Hopefully today!

Before I forget, I should mention that I am hosting the Carnival of Space this week! If you've got a space-related blog, send in your submission. Here are the instructions on how to submit. If you don't have your own space blog but have liked someone else's posts a lot, you can always nominate your favorite science blog writing to The Best Writing on Science Blogs 2007.

So, to business. I just posted the May/June issue of The Planetary Report. This issue features an article by Matt Golombek on the Mars Exploration Rovers. Check it out! As always, if you're a member you can download your copy from the you should be!

Last week, Lou Friedman posted a response to NASA Admininstrator Mike Griffin's infamous off-the-cuff commentary on global warming, writing about what Griffin should have said.

Over on Planetary Radio, Mat interviewed Southern SETI Director Guillermo Lemarchand this week; last week he talked with Glen Cushing, Windy Jaeger, and Tim Titus about the cave skylights on Mars.

And Amir Alexander has the scoop on what Eris' 27%-greater-than-Pluto mass means for the whole "What is a planet?" debate.

Finally, I have now established a presence on Facebook. I am not at all sure what to do with this yet -- I'm a bit behind the curve on this area of the Internet -- but I'm there. Be my friend!
