Projects: S.O.S: Save Our Science!Campaign Update: 10 Science Organizations Support NASA Space ScienceJanuary 26 , 2007 We are still awaiting final action by the Congress on the fiscal year 2007 Appropriations for NASA. A "Continuing Resolution" will be passed by the Congress, but what will be specified in it is uncertain. Congressman Culberson (R-TX), a great ally of The Planetary Society, has championed a mission to Europa. He, together with newly-elected Representative Nick Lampson (D-TX), organized a letter from 40 of his colleagues to the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, making the case for more NASA funding (download the letter PDF 108KB). The Planetary Society also organized a letter from 10 science organizations in support of NASA Space Science (download the letter PDF 1MB). This letter was sent to the Chairs of the House and Senate Appropriation Subcommittees dealing with the NASA budget.
