Volunteer NetworkThe Planetary Society operates a Volunteer Network for members who want to become more involved in supporting our goals. This section provides details on current Volunteer Opportunities and ways to get involved. For information on the Volunteer Guidelines, Regional Coordinator Guilelines, and an application to apply as a Regional Coordinator in your area, please visit the Volunteer Guidelines page. Many dedicated volunteers from around the world have joined the network, which has been instrumental in organizing local events, such as lectures, conference displays, and star parties on such themes as SETI@home, Near Earth Objects and Cosmos 1, The Planetary Society's solar sail mission. The volunteer network also provides logistical support for space association and industry programs and conventions. For a sampling of some of our events worldwide, please see The Planetary Society's Events Calendar. The Society is indebted to the work and dedication of its regional volunteer coordinators. You can visit some of the web sites hosted by our regional volunteer coordinators at our Volunteer Affilitates page. For further details on past volunteer activities, please see our quarterly Volunteer Newsletter. We welcome all Planetary Society Member inquiries about joining the Global Volunteer Network. We will assist you in planning local events and provide support for your activities that advance The Planetary Society's mission. We will also put you in contact with other volunteers in your region/country. Send your inquiries to our Global Volunteer Leader at . Welcome to the Volunteer Network! Lonny Baker |
